We create approachable, usable, and personalized INTERIORS to complement life
Casework is an interior design studio focused on environments and how they are experienced. The quality of an environment is one of the greatest and most overlooked sources of happiness. The power of design is transformative. Our goal is to understand our clients’ needs and ideas, and then translate them into a space.
Founded in 2015 by Casey Keasler, the work of Casework employs a range of ideas, materials, objects, and references - from the unexpected to off-the-shelf. We are driven by design, experience, narrative, and the belief that thoughtful design can be a means to live life to its fullest.
The Casework studio is highly collaborative and driven by responsibility and research – looking towards the future with support from the past. We strive for innovation yet dive deep into archives. We believe in investing in quality over quantity and doing something right, the first time.
When opening the interior design studio, Casey set out to build a business that not only establishes meaning in the interiors she and her team create but also be a foundation for growth and possibilities for those involved. Casey has worked in interior design for twenty years and each project, no matter the size, is considered with passion and attention to detail. She isn't interested in filling a space with pretty things, she wants each project to tell a unique story. At the root, we are designers looking for meaning in the work we produce. We are listeners, managers, detectives, therapists, advocates, and visionaries.
Casey Keasler - Founder & design director
Casey grew up on a construction site. Literally. For the first 13 years of her life, home was an 1860’s Victorian in east Tennessee that her parents bought for 11k, gutted to the studs, and remodeled DIY-style. She loved the process so much that when it came time to pursue a vocation, she went after a degree and then a career in interior architecture. With a decade of experience honing her craft through her work for commercial architecture firms, in 2015, Casey founded Casework. She never tires of taking an idea from concept to reality and is constantly refining the process to achieve the most personalized results.
Outside the studio, Casey’s still perpetually remodeling, currently working on her 1966 Ranchalow in NE Portland. During a normal weekend, she loves to hit tennis balls too hard, wrestle with her pitbull, Izzy, and host Friday night dinners.

Jordan AllEN - PROJECT DIRECTOR
Raised in the hills of rugged northern New Mexico, Jordan has since lived in many places including New York, New Orleans, and Kauai. She now calls Portland home. Jordan attributes her love of old homes to a year spent in New Orleans volunteering for Americorps after hurricane Katrina. Since moving to Portland, Jordan earned her second degree in Interior Design, her first was a BS in Business Administration, she worked for two renowned residential firms, and has remodeled two of her own homes, her current recently turned 100. Jordan brings a sharp attention to detail and experience to her role as Project Director. It doesn’t hurt that she has a passion for creating spaces that are thoughtful, functional, and sustainable.
In her free time, Jordan can’t be found. She’s usually off the grid somewhere camping in the NW with her partner Sean, daughter Max, and big dog, Simba.
MARLA KABASHIMA - d2
Originally from southern California, Marla came to Portland in 2021 after 10 years in New York. She’s dabbled in many worlds, including environmental consulting, non-profit, woodworking, seamstressing, and professional organizing after finding her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry wasn't her true calling. Desiring to create a bigger impact in the homes she organized, in 2019 Marla returned to school to earn a certificate in Interior Design. Marla's varied background brings a fresh perspective to her role at Casework. She's working on both residential and commercial projects and excels in developing color and material palettes that are just as unique as those involved.
When not working, you can find Marla in her at-home ceramics studio, at a Friday matinee with her partner, or cuddling on the couch with June, the basset hound.
