Portland Pied-à-terre

In the midst of the pandemic our client was looking for a respite - a place to recharge and think creatively outside of her WFH set up and busy family life. She closed on a 500sf studio apartment in NW Portland in the spring of 2021, and partnered with Casework to transform the space into her perfect personal getaway.

“a place to grow old and feel forever young.”

Our client imagined the space as a backdrop for an affair with herself, a recharging station. Casework developed a number of color palette options, each just a vibrant as the next, filled with pastels, pattern and animal print. The end result is a power clash - feminine with an edge, some surprises and delight in the details.

Casey selected Kate Blairstone’s Tigress wallpaper for the entry - it’s fierce, bold and sets the tone for the apartment. Heirloom Roses, another Kate Blairstone wallpaper is installed in what once was a closet to create a semi-custom built-in headboard.
