Hightower + Casework Pillows

hightower studio x casework PILLOW COLLABORATION

After partnering on the design of Hightower’s Chicago showroom in both 2019 and 2021, the natural next step was a product design collaboration. Casey says, “the collection came out of necessity. Hightower marketing director, Jessica Ahlering, and I were spending hours sourcing pillows for the showroom to give it a fresh and finished look each time. She mentioned it would be fun to partner on a product since they have an amazing upholstery department in Highpoint.”

Pillows are currently to the trade only available through Hightower.

relaxed, artful, and unexpected

The pillows are available in six shapes - each with soft edges to intentionally pair well with the structured lines of modern furniture. They are relaxed in form and intended to be layered with one another..

THE ROUND BUTTON

“As a kid, I remember my grandmother had a dark blue velvet round pillow with a button.” This sweet memory and its late 70s vibe inspired the Round Button style but we gave it more drama by selecting a much larger button detail for the center. It’s a fresh, modern take on a nostalgic piece.

With pillows, you can take a risk on color and pattern

The pillows can be made in hundreds of approved fabrics to add the perfect color, texture and pattern to any space. The Wave in an ochre corduroy becomes a cozy lumbar for a queen bed, while the Round Button in a lilac velvet adds a touch of sophistication to any side chair or settee.

From day one, every selection aimed at a warm, welcoming and intimate experience

“This collaboration with Hightower feels simultaneously nostalgic and it has also stretched my traditional thinking of what makes a pillow a special piece for individual expression.”

Casework founder, Casey Keasler purchased her 1966 Portland, Oregon abode which she affectionately calls the Ranchalow for its ranch-meets-bungalow design.

Hightower 2023 concept worked to create an exciting, high pattern contrast to the moodier and more minimal looks of years past.

A place to grow old and feel forever young resulted in a power clash of feminine with an edge with a little surprise and delight.
